Welcome to Watch Me Swim, the premier survival swim school for infants and young children. We understand parents have many questions and concerns about swimming lessons for little ones. Should the focus be on survival skills or simply having fun in the water?
At Watch Me Swim, we believe that children should be able to learn essential aquatic survival skills while also enjoying themselves in the water. We provide a unique and comprehensive approach to swimming education that bridges the gap between traditional and self-rescue or survival swim lessons. Our one-on-one individualized lesson program teaches children critical safety skills while building confidence in just a few weeks. Children in this age group (6 to 12 Months) are taught the essential survival skill of rolling back to float. They will maintain their independent float while resting and breathing.
Children 12 months and older are taught the essential survival skills of rolling back to float and independent swimming (basic front crawl swim). Students swim with their heads down for approximately 3-5 seconds. When they are tired and need to breathe, they independently rotate onto their backs, float, and rest. When ready, they flip over to resume swimming. They repeat the Swim-Float-Swim sequence as many times as needed.
Lessons are custom-tailored to meet each child's physical, developmental, and emotional needs. They are conducted one-on-one, four days per week, Monday through Thursday.
Each lesson for both age groups is approximately 10 minutes in length. Students must attend four classes per week at the same scheduled lesson time each day, Monday – Thursday, for the duration of the 6 to 8-week course. Please Note: Parents or caretakers observe each lesson from the pool deck.
