New Bethany Ministries

Celebrating its 30th year in 2015, New Bethany Ministries is the only comprehensive provider of basic services emanating from one central location in the Lehigh Valley. We strive to identify and optimize opportunities and improve the quality of life for our guests who cope with mental illness, disabilities, and/or extreme poverty. We accomplish this through the following nine programs: 2 case-managed transitional housing programs for homeless families (both single and two-parent) designed to provide the tools to obtain permanent housing, one of which requires enrollment and completion of an educational program; permanent housing for low-income families; 3 single room occupancy programs primarily for low-income mentally disabled adult men and women located in Bethlehem, Allentown and Coplay; and a homeless prevention program providing financial case management, including direct bill payment, for low-income mentally disabled adults. The Mollard Hospitality Center is comprised of three programs: the Meal Center providing two meals daily to more than 185 people Monday through Friday and thanks to volunteers, breakfast two Saturdays and Sundays a month and special meals on Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas; an five-day a week emergency food pantry providing three-day food baskets to more than 400 households monthly; and a day shelter open 8-4 Monday through Friday that offers showers, assistance with prescription medication, laundry facilities, mail address service, case management and referrals and services in-house provided by local social service and health care organizations, and colleges and universities.
