Ribbons of C.A.R.E. Helps Lehigh Valley Families Keep Children Cared For During Medical Crisis

When a family member faces cancer or another serious medical condition, childcare can quickly become one of the hardest problems to solve. Ribbons of C.A.R.E. (Childcare And Relief Expenses), a Lehigh Valley 501(c)(3), was founded by Alecia Fegley, who was diagnosed with breast cancer at 28 while raising three young children. Her experience showed how few childcare resources exist for families in medical crisis. The organization provides 12-week childcare grants so parents can focus on treatment, and also supports siblings of pediatric patients. In 2025, Ribbons of C.A.R.E. awarded five childcare grants, supported four families over the holidays, and donated more than 70 C.A.R.E. Craft Kits to children affected by a parent's or sibling's illness. The organization welcomes business partners, sponsors, volunteers, and referrals of families who could benefit.
