The Kindness Project is a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving the foster care community throughout the Lehigh Valley and eastern PA by providing them with free essential goods and services. Youth who enter foster care often come with nothing else but the clothing they are wearing. When foster families welcome foster youth into their homes, they can visit our shop, The Kindness Exchange, to receive free clothing, shoes, diapers, formula, car seats, cribs & beds, baby equipment, hygiene items, and all the things they need to feel settled.
Our goal is to ensure that foster parents don’t have to concern themselves with the financial burden of bringing a child(ren) into their home and can focus on the emotional needs of each child. Our free service also can allow foster parents the opportunity to say ‘yes’ if more than one child needs to be placed with them unexpectedly (for example, a sibling group of 2 or more children). We have everything they may need for all ages from newborn through young adult!
Our services have recently expanded to include free tutoring in partnership with Moravian College and Lehigh University, along with other critical developmental enrichment classes.
