Grant Opportunity for Teachers! 👩🏻🏫✏️ To honor the legacy of its namesake, the Penny Allison Early Childhood Fund is dedicated to advancing the cause of Early Childhood Education. We will award mini-grants to teachers and staff representing school programs like Kindergarten, Pre-K Counts, Head Start, and other nonprofit organizations serving children and families in Carbon County. Examples of funded programs include flexible seating, phonics programs, take-home learning kits, and book programs for students. Applications are due April 5, 2024. The Lehigh Canal Recreation Commission (LCRC) is hosting a public meeting on Monday, October 30th at the Lehighton Outdoor Center to share information, seek input, and recruit volunteers to help preserve the Lehigh Canal Park, one of Carbon County's most precious outdoor treasures. If you have ever used the trail to walk, hike, or bike, please consider attending one of the two offered sessions (3:30PM or 5:30PM).
